A message from our Founder
The Great Wedding Train is a unique new way to celebrate your wedding. This is the only true wedding train in the nation featuring a replica chapel car, custom built to the finest traditions of the great trains of the past century. We are sure that you will appreciate our attention to detail and the convenience of working with your own personal wedding coordinator; I hope that you will find our website helpful and interesting. We have put together a number of all-inclusive wedding packages and also allow you the opportunity to plan your own Custom Wedding Charter.
We are truly excited by the addition of The Great Wedding Train; we recently completed renovation of our new chapel car Everlasting and are very pleased with the results. My wife Mardell and I were the first couple to be married in the Everlasting on June 5, 2004.

Complete Wedding Train Packages
The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad offers five different ways to hold your wedding on our historical train. We offer four inclusive packages and one design your own charter opportunity. During the operating season from April 1 – December 31, The Great Wedding Train is at your service. Please take some time to review each of our packages, make a list of your questions, personal tastes, and ideas, and give your personal wedding coordinator a call to discuss making your wedding perfect on The Great Wedding Train!
About Us
The Great Wedding Train is a service operated on the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad (WGNS). WGNS is a historical excursion train operating on approximately 20 miles of former Chicago & North Western track between the northern Wisconsin towns of Spooner and Springbrook along the picturesque Namekagon River. The family oriented attraction combines historical railroad equipment with exciting special events to entertain and educate all age groups. This package has been especially prepared to give you the latest information available about our wedding train services and is intended to give you the ability to begin planning your wedding. The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad specializes in providing unique rides and custom events that will surely entertain your guests.

The mission of the volunteers and employees that make up the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad family is to take all of the worry out of planning your wedding. We offer complete packages and handle all of the details so you can focus on enjoying the event and visiting with your guests. Our family’s pride and enthusiasm are evident from the moment one of the highly polished locomotives pulls up to the station.
